i agree for the most aprt with fuzzypenguins, except for who its about. its gotta be about hip hop artists. the part that makes me say this is when he says "the pimping sons of plunder". rappers are all about getting more money regardless who they hurt. most mainstream rappers make songs that have no meaning. they just sing about their ho's and their cars and their money and the bottles crystal. there are some amazing rappers out there who do rap about things that actually have value but, most of them aren't mainstream and there's a reason for that.

this song is undoubtedly about his mother. but he also talks about religion and how they are not very realistic and very dogmatic about their beleifs. this is an amazing set of songs. maynard and tool are true visionaries. |

this song is about how death is just a phase in the process of existence. it's also from the perspective of a person who is already dead, albeit only recently. i know ben does some random things with his music and lyrics but this isn't one of them. he gives several clues. i mean, when he says out of the ground i rise to grace. obvious reference to death right there. at the very end he says I'M DRAINED. TIME TO FAKE AND DELAY. WATCH THE PENNY DROP. LET IT GO UP AND IN DROP, THEN EATCH IT ROLL. LET'S ALL MOURN TIL I SURVIVE INSIDE YOU. there are several references to dying in that part. first, when he says i'm drained. then he talks about the pennies. many cultures have put pennies over the eyes of their dead to pay the boat man to ferry them across the river styx into the underworld. then, the most obvious reference to the fact that the person is dead "lets all mourn til I survive inside you." |

this song is not about a girl. its how death is just a phase. its from the perspective from a person who is already dead and he is talking to the people who he has left behind. why would he say "lets all mourn til i survive inside you" using the word "all" implies there are more people in the situation then just two people. then the references to the pennies. some cultures would put pennies over the eyes of the dead so they could pay the boat man to take them over the river styx into the underworld. |
