seeing as Keith was an English teacher i take this song as what all goes on at the senior prom how we (men) get drunk and trick women into sex and other things. i interpreted a sense of resentment towards the government and its control. The line "we applied mascara to the radio but its just a quick fix we need a little more" may be directed as the government putting restriction on what is allowed to be played on the radio. "its just fix we need a little more" seems to me how they are trying to completely control what we publish or put out there but cant yet because the Constitution restricts them "Does it matter to you at all? Are you listening or have you tuned out?" can be taken as are you aware of the rights their taking from us or do you just not care. While the second line i take as are you going to stay and let them run you over or will you leave |
