| I always got the impression that this song was about adolescence. stupidity, getting dumped, angst, and rebellion. Maybe a transition. | |

| The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Bold As Love Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Who cares about acid? This song is about love and uncertainty. It's about all of the emotions he characterizes as colors. And the lyrics are wrong, Jimi says "green jealousy," not "queen jealousy." | |
| Queens of the Stone Age – You Would Know Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Not every song is about drugs... This song (in my opinion) is about a relationship, which is dissolving. "you would know" is kind of a spiteful malicious post-relationship remark At the beginning he's a happy robot (this may be a reference to Josh's "robot rock" style), happy in the relationship. They're similar, or cut from the same cloth, but their relationship is too explosive/not working, or ripping at the seams. The rest of it seems to be just the relationship falling apart and he puts an end to it; cutting (the cloth), crosshairs in the eyes. |

| The Velvet Underground – Jesus Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I don't think he's asking for forgiveness or redemption. He's just asking for direction. I doubt this is about drugs, or any specific event. Lou may not be religious, and personally, I don't think this is really even about religion; it's about wanting direction and feeling lost and helpless |

| The Kills – Black Balloon Lyrics | 14 years ago |

This is an incredible song. It seems to me like it's about letting go of someone. I think it's particularly about someone you were trying to save/help but have given up on. It's a black balloon because, well, it's a sad situation. Perhaps it means that they have to be given up because if they are too much of a burden. let the weather have it's way with you probably means, I hate to do this, but so long and whatever happens to you is going to happen. It's not about drugs, its about letting someone go and be left alone on their own. This definitely has a relationship-esce connotation, though. I think that it's trying to say "I can tell it's not going to work out; I'm giving up; good luck." Heroin seems totally incorrect though. Just because its alternative doesn't mean drugs are involved. |
