i think that this song is about slugs feelings towards his audience. hes been gaining and losing popularity due to his style change. as hes aging, his song are less "pop culture" and are more meaningful. i believe that this song is about all the hate that slug is getting for his changing style and rythms, but he knows that his real fans will stay loyal forever. "If you was gonna leave me you would have already left me now " his real fans are forever and his fake fans wouldnt have bothered listening to this entire song, hence why they would have already left him now. they also would not have been following his career for this long either. just my interpretation, could be way off. |
