This is a love song. "Throw it all away" refers to how she would throw everything away, even when she has nothing, when she is hollow, for this person with whom she shares some sort of relationship with. I can assume it's a strong relationship, because she likens their love to the roots and branches of an oak, a tree that is strong and does not easily fall. My favorite part of this song: "In my restless hour I'm holding the words you say that lay my soul to sleep. I dream of buildings that burn. The sky turns black, I toss and turn. When the stars and the moon and the sky fall through, I'd throw them all away..." She throws away the fears that haunt her. Whoever she is in love with, their words allow her to let go of the worries that keep her awake. Her feelings are as deep as the sea goes for this person. A truly beautiful song. |
