I think this song embodies the struggles of addiction. In the song i believe the ghosts are a metaphorical personification of addiction which can take on a spiritual presence once it has a hold on someone forcing them against their will. The line asking "release from myself" and from "my duality" also seem to suggest this as well as the line about being a soldier but "useless is my war" which tells of the hopeless feeling one must have feeling like they cant win. "The innocence that smiles today, Tomorrow will be lying". This seems to tell of when a person is fighting against this but doesnt know if the next day they may not be able to hold on and will be taken again by the "ghosts". "Who is that really dies, when all the people look at me? And I'm twisting my fingers in my hair While a mirror reflects me". Can't figure out how to explain this line but somehow it makes sense to me. The chorus with cristina seems self explanatory in this context. Anyways this is a great song and my first post so let me know your opinions! |
