| This song made me determine that Mazzy Star was the greatest ensemble, beyond band, ENSEMBLE of all time. EOAT! So with that said, yes my immediate reaction to this song is about death, as in dying, end of life. But, it also could mean death as in a death to a relationship. God, Hope has ... the greatest voice ever! Why isn't any of Mazzy Star's songs featured on these prime time sign off shows!?!? REALLY! | |

yeah... i'm not too sure as WHO is SHE... but my impression is that she is NOT happy. At first I thought it was about some chick he was living with and she was pissed off at him about something... probably from him being 'stoned'.... "wider than, higher than, you know" but again as too WHO SHE is... it seems that it could be his mom... but the last line in the song could be him explaining to his mom why is last relationship didn't work out, stating that he "is just a boy" and therefore was too immature. At first I skipped through this song, but after a few listens, I actually like this song now quite a bit. |

again another GREAT song from HUM... But for me... this song just is about doing drugs... i mean isn't beelzebub a demon??? and why would you ask him to do something "without a net"... I'm not going to analyze each sentence, but the first time i heard this song I immediately thought it was about doing drugs and I have not since changed my mind... also the length of the song without lyrics might suggest that a person listening to the song is probably "out of sorts" anyway... Just my interpretation thanks!!! |

GREAT song from a GREAT album from a GREAT BAND. but for me, the meaning is simple. MOST songs/poems are written for 1 reason, Love/Sex. So my interpretation of this song is that the couple are "making love" in a way that her head resting on the back of his "wet head"... he is probably standing up and cradling her... but obviously she is not enjoying it. The "simple wave" could possibly be just the motions during the act... 'the water leans towards me' I can't explain, but the following line where he is "cleaned" could possibly mean that he engaged in premarital sex. The "I'll wait on you" could me multiple things, either I'll wait on you to climax or I'll wait on you to accept our relationship, just for example. Anyways, that is my interpretation I hope you may find it insightful or whatever hahaha, thanks! |
