My belief is that the song's meanings are broken into three parts. The first one I think is about a soldier dying on the battlefield, ready to go. The broken picture on his wall could be his family who were all soldiers and died in war. The second part I'm pretty sure is that's dead and lost within...something, but he got lost on his way to Elysium, which is a place that heroic souls go after they die (from Greek mythology). As for the third part, I can't decipher it. |
