This song captured me the second I heard it. Something about sad love songs that always grab me. So, here goes... I feel her filth in my bones - Angie cheated; he tries to get rid of that feeling of her betrayal, but he can't, so the curtain closes on his heart and the relationship. Some love was made for the light - Love that works out for the long term Some kiss your cheek and goodnight - Dating that doesn't go further into a relationship, possibly a one night stand. Lift up your red high heel, lock up your doors with steel - Now that they are broken up, she's back out on the scene, looking for company, but not willing to open her heart and be vulnerable. They’re makin' noise in my street, My blinds are drawn I can’t see, Smashed in my car window, Didn’t touch the stereo - I was thinking maybe some guys affiliated with Angie came around to F-up his car... just smashing the window of his car while he was inside the dark room, lamenting Angie and what he thought they had. Just a bad time in his life. At least they left his stereo!! Slow it down, Angie come back to bed; Rest your arms, and rest your legs- Come back to bed meaning come back to Him, rest your arms with a heavier "Rest Your Legs" is as if he's saying stop running around. Love is right here. Act like you’ve been here before, Smile less and dress up some more- Her past relationships have had the same ending, with her behavior towards the end being less amicable, as she starts to go out more, looking for something else. The last part of this stanza is obvious. I'll stop there. Don't want it to be too long, but I did want to say what the song means to me. |

This was the very first Mother Mother song I heard, and Now I'm completely addicted to all of their albums. "I forgot about handfuls" I equated to Masturba.... I can't wait to see them in a few weeks. In the words of Ryan... WOOOO!!! |

This IS a sad song. Most of their songs are pretty dark in my opinion. To me this song is about a woman (or a couple) that had a baby, and the baby died very young. Now they have to deal with the constant bombardment grief, only left with few memories from it's brief little life. The sounds they make at the end of the song sound like they are saying "Ow-Owww-Ow-Ow-Ow-Owwww". Painful. |

I Love this Band!! I Love this dark love song! To me it is about a Bonnie and Clyde type situation, wherein this couple are professional criminals, killing, cheating, stealing. That's why they are getting rid of their fingerprints, sleeping with one eye open, disposing of things, carrying guns, keeping the car ready to go!! I would imagine that if you're a criminal, you've always got one eye open, watching your back. The women in the story is always on alert since they probably have people after them, wether it be other criminals or the law. |
