Dead Man's Bones – My Body's A Zombie For You Lyrics 14 years ago
I think it is about hating one's body. It could be about saying that your body is destroyed and ugly for someone. Like this person could be self mutilating, or kill themselves for someone else, but to rub it in their face. Like saying, "Look, you've made me destroy myself."

The Antlers – Parentheses Lyrics 14 years ago
I think that this song is about telling someone that you don't want to be romantically involved with them anymore along with saying that they didn't deserve you on the first place. The first talks about hurting your lover, but not feeling any regret "I don't owe you anything." The second part is about the speaker leaving there lover and making it obvious. He is leaving and telling her to shut her knees, because he no longer wants to have sex with her. The shape of her open legs, with her knees bent, looks like a parenthesis. He is also saying that he wants to close the parenthesis symbolically. Their whole relationship was just a side note, something in parenthesis that was not important to the whole sentence or paragraph. Now he is leaving and ending it, closing the parenthesis. The part about the phantom memory is because he is cutting the girl out of his life. He is amputating their relationship, but he won't have phantom memories of her, in other words, regrets. He is leaving and won't think of her again.

The Antlers – Corsicana Lyrics 14 years ago
I think that this song is about a relationship that is doomed to fail and is falling apart. The house (their relationship) is burning and there is no way to stop it. They are realizing, now, at the end, how petty their other worries were, such as shutting the window. They were too distracted to realize that their whole relationship was crumbling. So, in the end, they decide to just kiss for their last few minutes together and make it last as long as possible by holding their breaths. But even though they are holding on at the end, they know that ultimately they will burn.

Leonard Cohen – So Long, Marianne Lyrics 14 years ago
I love this interpretation. I think that the last lines are meant to symbolize clearing one's thoughts. He was about to start getting over her, but then she got married, so he was unable to clean his mind of her. He almost washed himself free, when he heard about her marriage.

This is the saddest and most beautiful comment I have seen on here.
