If you listen to the first verse, they say "positive vibe merchant grandson of Lord Buckley". Lord Buckley was a beatneck poet from the '50s-'60s who wrote a poem called "The Nazz", bascially referring to Jesus of Nazareth (I know, weird). But the lyrics in that poem say: "I'm gonna put a cat on you was the coolest, grooviest, swingin'est cat that ever stomped on this jumpin green sphere and they called this here cat 'The Nazz'.". The phrase was pretty much adopted as a meaning for hip, or cool...in other words "the shiz-nazz" lol... |
