I personally think that this song is about 2 childhood friends growing up and then the male half of this friendship falls for the girl, but realizes he is in the dreaded 'friend zone'. the song ends with the possibility, after they have grown apart, they could become romantically entangled |

i think it was 'pigs' written in blood, Trent reznor of nine inch nails bought the house in with the murders happened and he recorded all his music under the wall where pig was written.

tuvia, i think this song is like happiness is a warm gun, because as with HIAWG john lennon put loads of drug references just to mess with people. so you wouldn't over analyse songs like you have done with this song. as taylor argued very well in my opinion, it is about a cheating woman, he didn't over analyse the song, music is meant to be listened to and enjoyed, not torn to peaces to find the meaning of life or whatever. i think this song fits in with ultravox's Vienna and the cures 'the forest'. to me they describe one relationship, the story goes something like this; a man has a brief love fair with a woman (vienna) who then finds out shes married (this song) and then goes into a downward spiral of depression because he really liked her (the forest)
you probably think im some rambling idiot, but you've had your say, so i get mine. |
