| This story about jeremy wade is tragic and shocking....Everytime i listen to this song this poor child comes into my mind... it's like i can feel what this boy was going through.... i first heard this song some where around 2006 and i dint give much attention to the song and i wasnt a fan of pearl jam either..but i heard the song alot of times in these years..but somehow last week this song touched my heart and the melody and i wanted to find out the lyrics of it and lately found out the story behind this....and it made me emotionally wheep whenever i hear this song...now it's one of my favourites .and im a fan of pearl jam...it's like i can feel the boy's pain he went through whenevr i listen to it....it's so emotional... i have seen the dark side of life too... may u rest in peace brother jeremy!!! | |

My view is this.., It's about a relationship and now it's over..,but even though it's over the guy cant stop his feelings and awaiting the arrival of the girl again...... "See the stone set in your eyes See the thorn twist in your side" The girl has done a lot of damage to him and caused a lot of pain...but yet he needs to reach her.... it's clear that this relationship was a strong one and the guy could not get over it....but even though the girl comes back it's hard for him to get back with her cuz he keeps remembering the past...and therefore he remembers the cruelty and the harsh times given by the girl and he cant make up his mind.... "My hands are tied My body bruised, she's got me with Nothing to win and Nothing left to lose" maybe he's got someone else in his mind and like her too...but yet he cant forget his past with the one he was and he cant make a decision on what to do ....therefore his hands are tied..he's lost....... |

This happened to be the most inspirational and the most emotional song of U2 in my preception "CAN YOU HEAR ME WHEN I SING ..,YOUR THE REASON I SING ..,YOUR THE REASON WHY THE OPERA IS IN ME " .....means alot and the most emotional part.....in his live singing he expresses this alot and we feel it deep inside..... my favourite of all time |
