This song is timeless... very touching. The movie is based on a true story, however, the time period off. Before the first fall of Rome the Roman credo was: Virtus- In Roman mythology, Virtus was the deity of bravery and military strength, the personification of the Roman virtue of virtus. He/she was one of the di indigetes. The Greek equivalent deity was Arete. Gravitas- Gravitas (from Latin) is a quality of substance or depth of personality. Pietas- It is usually translated as "duty" or "devotion Simplicitas- A Latin phrase meaning literally, ``O holy simplicity!'' To be ``simplus'' in Latin is both to be innocent, humble and modest - the original meaning in this phrase - but also to be ignorant, credulous and naive (the meaning Dr. White ironically gives it here).
