I don't think he's in a relationship yet with the girl. It sounds like it's still in the courting stage. "I am alone I am in love with an idea" - I think this is indicative that he is in love with the idea of her -- not necessarily with her. I also disagree in regards to him having an ideal picture of love. He seems to have a grasp on his mental situation. "Sophisticated Neurological appeals" -- I believe this alludes to his understanding that his brain is making him feel like he's in love -- but he knows that is not true love (because he's in love with the idea). He believes he's "real" opposed to the other 100 lovers. Wants to show her that he's the real thing. But a deal needs to be negotiated to walk down that path -- people are vulnerable and won't walk down that path unless a mutual understanding (ie deal) is met. |
