Honestly this song sounds extremely dreamy. I love the reversed synth melody in the back round, and the whispered vocals give me chills. I really just think Kevin was trying to be really non-cohesive because the lyrics really fit with the spacious and mellow song. |

In my opinion, this song is about loneliness. It's about the life Brian had in L.A playing show after show, and going to shows all the time. It just seems like a song that depicts a middle class night life, revolving around music and basically how he was feeling at the time. The loneliness comes from the imagery of the first paragraph.

pissing on while pissing off
sucking in a smokescreen
selling of a loose knit dream"
this seems to just be describing the night life in L.A where again he stays up till 4 in the morning going to shows at the bar and playing music. The type of exhaustion and some kind of depression follows from this type of life.

It seems here that nikki is telling her half of the story of the life in L.A saying that even though they try to do their best, they remain where they are in that lonely and humble nightlife |

The whole Neck of The Woods album is supposed to be based off of Brian's origins. This song is probably about nostalgia and Brian remembering his past and how he could go back in the past. Bloody Mary was maybe something that haunted him during his childhood and he looks back on it all with a smile

I think it might be about being socially awkward. There are several hints that state that he's socially awkward and the whole prom thing is him having to a prom but he doesn't want to be around all these other people and embarrass himself. Maybe a hint of Issac's past but idk. It was just a guess I made in like two seconds after hearing the song and looking at the lyrics. |

i always felt this had to do with religion i was always a strict catholic but then when i went through depression and insanity i realized how odd Christianity is compared to modern human psychology and now i'm not sure what to believe but god i love this tune its so dark at the chorus and i love the haunting guitar in the background |
