Regina Spektor – Samson Lyrics 14 years ago
I definitely agree with rustytheskatemaker. This song is probably about Delilah. I think the line "the Bible didn't mention us" actually means that no-one ever tried to see her point, i.e. that they loved each other, and that she was given a bad name while she wasn't in fact trying to harm Samson. I also think that Delilah is saying she wishes things were different. From "he told me that I've done all right" to the end, I guess Delilah is actually dreaming about what their future might have been like if Samson had understood.I'd link this with the "We couldn't break the colums down" part which is, I think, an allusion to this moment when Samson, after a long time in captivity, recovers his hair and therefore his strength. He then tries to escape breaking the columns of the palace he is kept in, but dies in his attempt, crushed by the weight of the stones. I believe her meaning here is something along the lines of "We won't do anything incredible [that's fairly obvious] but we'll live to know this" and that she regrets his death. This would have been written after Samson's death, perhaps when Delilah is old herself. The "I have to go" part would work with that, and the stanza about stars falling would work there too. Even the fact that she mentions sheets of paper, where she's probably writing about her past life and hopes, would corroborate the assumption that we're actually exploring Delilah's psyche while she's at the very end on her life, perhaps even on her deathbed. And, finally, the line "You are my sweetest downfall" doesn't automatically hints that it's Samson talking. From Delilah's point of view, this whole story was probably pretty much a downfall too - after all, she's the one who's described as a heartless whore, not Samson. She lost everything in this and knows she is going to be remembered as a manipulative slut whose only goal was trying to make a great man fall. This song sounds (at least to me) like a desperate attempt of a dying woman to set the records straight.

Queen – One Vision Lyrics 14 years ago
Actually, it was a joke made by the singer during the recording of the song : the band was going to have fried chicken for lunch... Freddie Mercury didn't want to keep this line at first, but his lover, Jim Hutton, encouraged him, and the chicken finally stayed.
