"So won't you please just take my hand" I fell in love with this song the second that line was said. So beautiful. (: |

I think it could be a song about friends parting. Like maybe one friend decided that they were too good/popular for the other friend? Where would you go? Not long ago I've been thinking out loud Why so suddenly? Don't you know? Don't do it What you do Oh what you do to me They decided to make the switch to a different clique suddenly, and it baffles the friend, because it seems like they were fine not too long ago. And the last two lines ("what you do / oh what you do to me"), could be frustration / exasperation. Forever is a long long time When you've lost your way Trying to follow your ideal Oh sorry but your so called life It is such a waste Wear your real eyes No you don't realize What you say yes to But you say yes too What I get is that the friend who left wanted to be in that clique for such a long time, that it was the 'ideal', and when they get into it, the other friend realizes how destructive it is and how the friend who left is falling into peer pressure for something bad [drugs, alcohol, sex, whatever] (what tips me off is "Oh sorry but your so called life / it is a such a waste" and "No you don't realize what you say yes to / but you say yes too"). They just want them to realize how bad it is. I think "Wear your real eyes" is a reference to 'rose colored glasses', like they're seeing their life now as greatness, but if they looked at themselves with their 'real' eyes, they see this isn't a great life at all. Where would you go Where would you go With a lasso? Could you run into Could you run into Could you go and run into me? Maybe the clique the friend got into is addicting? They have no where else to turn because they've burned other bridges and all they have left is that clique? That's why the friend is hoping they'll run into them. I think the friend wants to see the other friend again, so they can have an 'intervention' moment, make them see how that life isn't what they thought. So lonely so pretty such a lack of diplomacy You can't get out Don't you know don't do it What you do well you should do to me Far-out, so far-out Such a fall-out Not only that you're lonely Don't matter if you're not so well No you're not so well Basically saying the friend's life isn't going great, and they're just part of something that doesn't even care that she's not doing so great. Tomorrow is a long long time When you've lost your way Tomorrow is a long long time When you've lost your way Maybe the friend doesn't know what to do anymore, and each day in their current life is going by so slowly that it seems like 'forever'. I just think it's about a friend talking to another friend about how they've lost their way and they want to help them. I hope that makes sense. |
