Beautiful song by an amazing artist! To me it seems prett clear that Jerry wrote this song about a girlfriend that he really loved but was unfortunately unable to stay with. I would not be at all surprised if he did cheat on her. He is a rock God after all. |

I cant help but recognize the subtle irony in this song. This is a very short song so it dies young as well as the subjects. Saddest of all is that Layne proved this tune to be true. RIP Layne |

I don't know much of anything about drug use, but with all the comments above that I've read-I do now believe that this song is at least a little about drugs,which makes sense because it is an Alice in Chains song and they have a lot of songs that focus on drugs. However, I do not beleve that drugs are the focal point of this song. I believe that this song is more about stupid media bullshit and saying that they are still a viable musical entity until any of us hear differently fromm them!

I have never actually been high, but my guess is that ths song was written about somebody (Jerry,Layne or any of the hundreds of people that Jerry knew) The way I understand drug use is that an addice eventually does look and feel like an extremelu ugly and loathsome individual. |
