"fill me up with money, gold, aint nobody ever needs me. take me to the steeple, let them preachers hands abathe me. im going down down to the river, aint nobody needs me out in this water, let those mans hands abathe me down down down down down" i think hes talking about jesus' baptism. cause he was baptized in a river and his baptism was a sign that he was just a man like all of us while he was being baptized noone was coming to him asking him for a miracle or for him to speak it was like he was just a normal man again hence " aint nobody needs me out in this water" " let those mans hands abathe me" or john the baptists hands. but then again who knows what john was really writing about. all i can say is hes on another level. |
