| La Dispute – Fall Down, Never Get Back Up Again Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
I agree that this is a metaphor but I think she still dies. She helped him through difficult times and they fell in love. I have two ideas about the meaning to this though: I think she could have commited suicide. Either she went through something difficult and he didn't help her or she didn't tell him and she couldn't take it anymore. With all the references about the ocean, I would say she drowned. Or She died when they were most in love. Probably murdered. The storm could be when they found her but then: 'He watched her hand break through the surface once Then disappear again' There was a moment where they thought she might live but she didn't. The whole way through the song he seems to love her and when she dies, he loves her even more. He says: 'Someday not far away from here My dear, I swear I'll see you' He believes his love for her will bring them back together one day 'And we will hear the seraphs cry For they will still envy you and I' He believes even the angels will be jelous of the amount of love they have for eachother. In my opinion, this song is beautiful, a great metaphoric story of love and death <3 |

| Adele – Don't You Remember Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I think she's still in love with her ex-boyfriend. She wants him to remember when he did love her and hopes that he will love her again. You know how much she still loves him because she says her faults and she knew she was like that but she tried to make it work: I gave you the space so you could breathe, I kept my distance so you would be free She tried but she 'had no idea the state we were in', She didn't even realise they had problems in their relationship and so it came as a shock. I love the last part where is changes from 'but don't you remember' to 'why don't you remember', it's one final try to get him to remember. She's so desperate to understand in the end and she just wants to know why. She wants him to remember why he loved her so desperately, if she can't have him back she at least wants to know why. Such a beautiful song and I know how she feels, baby please remember you used to love me <3 |

| Twilight – I Caught Myself Lyrics | 14 years ago |

This song describes my life. It's in better words then I can say myself. I was in love with someone for 14 months, we're bestfriends. I'm over him now which makes him easier to talk about but even now, I still have feelings for him. I'm not sure if they will ever go away. 'You got it, you got it Some kind of magic Hypnotic, hypnotic You're leaving me breathless I hate this, I hate this' I always felt that there was something pulling me towards him, it was like he was gravity and everything I did evolved around him. And I hated it. 'You're pushing and pulling me down to you But I don't know what I want No I don't know what I want Don't know what I want But I know it's not you Keep pushing and pulling me down But I know in my heart it's not you' There was a time where I just felt so confused. I was being drawn to him but I wasn't sure if it was really what I wanted. At times I thought I wanted him more than anything and other times, I didn't even want to speak to him. In the end, I realised it wasn't him I wanted. I'd wanted him for so long and one day I realised I didn't need him. It was the greatest feeling in the world. Now everytime I listen to this song, it reminds me of the day I realised that I didn't need him. Yes this song was in twilight but it doesn't mean non twilight fans can't listen to it, paramore are an amazing band and more people should listen to them! :) <3 |

| Silverstein – True Romance Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
It sounds like she's cheating,'waits in the car to go to a motel'. She's with her huband because he had a good job but then the 'stock market falls and he loses it all'. Now she doesn't need him, she realises she's okay on her own. Now she's gone and he's lost it all, her husband commits suicide. And she realises she may be at fault: 'will you say your prayers just to be honest with yourself? will you save your soul is this what you wanted all along?' She wishes she can go back so she prays because it's the only way she can be honest with herself and she realises all that what she's done wasn't worth it, it wasn't what she wanted all along. This is further proven in the last verse: 'beautiful girl sleeps by herself half the beds cold she knows its her fault she's given in and admitted defeat and she'll be fine' Now she can admit she was partly at fault, she can finally try and move on...'she'll be fine'. This is just my opinion:) This song is beautiful <3 |

| Dashboard Confessional – This Bitter Pill Lyrics | 14 years ago |

'Walking away, it's not the same as running', i don't think a song as ever had the same affect that first line had to me. When you listen to this song for the first time, you know it is going to be AMAZING just by that first line. I agree that this song might me about suicide but i'm not sure its that extreme. I think it's mainly about an addiction but it might have led to someone wanting to commit suicide. When he cries singing the last lines, I cry with him. It brings out so much emotion in me. Such a beautiful song <3 |

| The Fray – How To Save A Life Lyrics | 14 years ago |

The meaning for this song has been said many times and I agree with most. But to me this isn't about relationships, its about an addiction. To me, it's probably a drug addiction. It's someone trying their best to help someone they love overcome this addiction. They don't want to see this person they care about be like this. He tries to talk to them: 'He walks away, you say "sit down its just a talk"'. This person might not want to help themselves so your trying to convince them to do it. He lost his friend somewhere amongst his addiction: 'I lost a friend somewhere along in the bitterness'. He's trying to get that friend back. 'I would have styed up with you all night, had i known how to save a life'. He tried so hard but he couldn't do it. His friend didn't want to help himself and he didn't know how else he could help. In the second verse, he just wants to help his friend and he wants it so bad. He says 'pray to god he hears you and pray to god he hears you' because he is so desperate. 'He will do one of two things: He will admit to everything Or he'll say he's just not the same And you'll begin to wonder why you came' This breaks my heart everytime i hear it because i think it means he has two choices and you get the idea he chooses the one you don't want him to and then you really start to wonder why you came and why you tried to help because he won't change. Seeing someone like this is heartbreaking and the fray sum it up perfectly, you have to want to help yourself before anyone else can try and help you. I really do love this song. |

| Sara Bareilles – Breathe Again Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
This song is truly amazing. I think it's about someone who loves someone so much it's suffocating her. I think she's realised that this love isn't good for her and tries to leave but he still 'holds my love in his hands'. If he wanted her back she knows she would go back with him because she loves him so much. However, she knows she shouldn't and even though it hurts like no pain she's ever experienced before, she knows that over time she will be able to breathe again. She will stop feeling suffocated and be able to leave but she has to leave for this to happen. It's almost as if the air that she is breathing is his which would mean to start with it's gonna be harder but when she learns to live wihtout him she will be able to breathe again. 'Hang my head, break my heart Built from all I have torn apart And my burden to bear Is a love I can't carry anymore' This is probably my favourite verse. She knows that she shouldn't be carrying this love any more because he broke her heart, broke everything she built and she can't bear the burden of this love. It's because of this that she knows she has to leave him and she will someday breathe again. Just my opinion. I feel I can relate to this song. |

| Sara Bareilles – Gravity Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Personally, one of the best songs ever written. As soon as the piano starts, my eyes start to water and my heart sinks into my chest. For me this song is about loving someone and having no control over it. You try to get out of the relationship but there is nothing you can do. His/her love is your gravity. It's keeping you on the ground unable to move forward. 'You hold me wiothout touch, you keep me without chains' shows how that person has you wrapped around their finger because you would do anyhthing for them. 'Set me free leave me be, I don't wanna fall another moment into your gravity' shows she wants to get out but she can't. She's begging him but it won't happen. Even if he did, she would fall right back into his gravity. 'You loved me 'cause I'm fragile. When I thought that I was strong. But you touch me for a little while and all my fragile strength is gone.' This shows that when she's not with him, she has some strength but as soon as she's with him again, she becomes this fragile little person again who she doesn't want to but has no choice to be. 'The one thing that I still know is that your keeping me down'. She knows that she should get out and she knows that his gravity is keeping her down but there is literally nothing she can do. This song has such a brilliant end as well. Story of my life. |

| Damien Rice – Delicate Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I agree with most people. Such a wonderful song that pulls on your heart strings. I think its about two friends who just start seeing eachother in private and they act as if it doesn'y matter. And to the girl this might be the case. However, the bloke see's through her and says 'why did you sing hallelujah, if it means nothing to you at all'. (I don't think it has anything to do with christians) He feels something for her and knows she does to. He says 'we might make love in some sacred place'. Sacred means more than just anywhere and more than just special, it's somewhere really special for them. He also says 'we might kiss when we are alone' meaning that they don't do it infront of people because it's a secret, which means it could be an affair. 'the look on your face is delicate'. This could mean that her face is showing that she cares but maybe she can't admit it to herself let alone him. 'Delicate' is such a gentle word to use and maybe it describes their relationship. 'It's not that we're scared, it's just that it's delicate'. There is no other way to describe what they're doing and how there feeling other than that its delicate. This is a truly beautiful song and makes tears come to my eyes whenever I hear it :) |
