When I listen to the song and especially looking at the lyrics I envision this song being about an elderly person. Someone suffering from crippling arthritis and the singer in this case is somebody who loves them and is watching the person slowly entombed by their illness. The lines "the morning is your own" and "save a piece of strength for me" seem to speak to the fact that although this person is slowly being taken by their illness, the speaker is asking them to take strength when they can cause they will need it in the future. Just what I envisioned when I listened to it. |
