I know this song has no literal meaning, but if you sit and listen to it, this song could be about batman. I know that sounds strange, but lets take a look at the chorus and i'll show you; near a tree by a river there's a hole in the ground "The bat-cave location" where an old man of aran goes around and around "talking about batman and his never ending fight against crime" and his mind is a beacon in the veil of the night "When the bat-signal shines in the night sky, he's ready" for a strange kind of fashion there's a wrong and a right "He and his enemies dress strangely but, he is the right and they are the wrong" but he'll never, never fight over you "never, never is a double negative, he'll always fight over you." | For those who don't know, this song was originally made by Nik Kershaw. Nik has already said that riddle has no meaning, the lyrics were meant to be stand in lyrics for the actual song, but do to the album date coming up, he had to keep the lyrics. He called it the riddle because it sounded like a name that fit the gibberish. | |
