The harpsichord part reminds me of a video I loved when I was a child... it was a documentary about horses (coincidence, I think not) and the motif has definite similarities of the music I can remember from it! It was a documentary in the eyewitness series, which I adored, but the programme on horses was exceptionally marvellous.... I've always been reminded of it when listening to this song! I bet Natasha was a fan. |

To me, this song is a retelling of Albert Camus' 'The Outsider'... the decription of the 'heart pounding in his chest' and the use of the gun instantly reminds me of the scene where Meursault shoots the man, changing the course of his life forever. Camus also mentions the sun numerous times, and it is like Meursault himself blames the sun for his crime, before accepting his fate. |
