actually the song is about a loved one dying, not about them breaking up. she died in a car crash, if you guys actually read the lyrics and what they're saying, you'll realize that. they aren't completely accurate to what happened, but it's about one of their girlfriends dying. |

Oh my gosh, i can't believe all of you think it's about a breakup. ): if only. the song is actually about a loved one dying, and it's half fictional and half real. it's really sad and tragic.:/ i know this for a fact because of an interview with alex, but also there are a TON of things to clue you in. i shall list them: "and knew what time we had could be counted on your fingertips, and that almost made you cry, but you let me hold you tightly as we said all our goodbyes." it's like they knew that they didn't have much time left together and he held her closely as they said their goodbyes. "as this time we've spent together was meant to last us quite a while" meaning that what time they were able to spend together was meant to last him for the rest of his life, and her until he was able to join her in heaven. "here's two for being unaware that you're gone, because before too long you'll be a memory." he didn't know that she was dying, but soon she would be nothing but a memory. |
