It means that his childhood/imagination/creativity/inspiration , the emotion you are born with (Innocence) and more over left. He no longer posses these traits, he might have grown up, but he lost the child/innocence inside him. A Unicorn is a symbol of the magic and beauty everyone is born with but then looses with time. This songs sings about him realizing he lost it and then wanting it back (pleading, paying, begging for it to come back). Everyone wants and sometimes wishes they still would have been kids a little longer, maintaining that youth and perspective you loose. In the end of the song he admits into the fact that his "Blue Unicorn" left. It is not only talking about him, but it can mean different emotions about different people. |
