Björk – Immature Lyrics 12 years ago
It's not an anthem for women. It's an anthem for people. Nobody should think their lover is going to complete them.

Marina and the Diamonds – Oh No! Lyrics 14 years ago
To me, if the song was about coming to terms with who you actually are versus who you think you are, the song wouldn't repeat, "oh no!"

Even if she's stated what the song means, to me, this song is very much satire towards a lot of people's mindset these days. It's about relationships vs. success, and how some people take the latter over the former, and they destroy their relationships with people in the cash after success. This is especially brought out in, "TV taught me how to feel. Now real life has no appeal." Relationships are no longer rewarding, because they're now living a material existence.

Now, there is a self-aware voice, but it seems to be so much smaller in comparison to the longer bouts of material existence justified by the chase after success.

The chorus is especially satire towards these people, because they view their determination, their material existence, as knowing who they are, and a sort of confidence in themselves, when in reality, it's just digging them a deeper hole of faux existence.

"I know exactly what I want and who I want to be" is then contrasted by "I know exactly why I walk and talk like a machine,"
To me, this isn't a self-aware voice, it's just Marina making fun of these kinds of people.

Linkin Park – The Catalyst Lyrics 14 years ago
The most important aspect in interpreting the meaning of this song is that, when the band asks, "Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns?" They respond, "No."
