thanks dude i always wondered what this song meant , i love good lyrics but this always had me stumped, theres an irish film called the commitments , its about a band but their manager is always having imaginary interviews with terry wogan , he quotes a couple of lines from the song and terry says "thats beautiful jimmy but what does it mean?" jimmy replies "im fucked if i know terry" haha sums the whole song up |

i think its a song from when your a kid playing spin the bottle or kid games losing on purpose to get a kiss,,,,, with the lights out its less dangerous ,, kinda like when u get flung in a closet with a girl for 5 minutes , it runs through the song with that theme if u look at it smells like teen spirit ,,, teens ,, smelling (cause u cant see in the dark closet) read it and stop jabbering about pop music and what the best song is |

this may sound stupid but i think this song is a wife beater , the little lion man is the coward(little man ) that thinks hes tough (lion)beating the missus hes offerin advice to the son in the second verse "whos seen it all before" ,, the dad beating the ma and he tells him to listen to his mother or spend the days biting your own neck "being on your own" even listen to the way he says my dear in the chorus it starts out sounding evil then ends up him saying it like hes regretful |
