I'm surprised no one has commented on this song since its gotten a lot of activity ever since it was played in an episode of "How I Met Your Mother." The meaning seems pretty straight forward. The stories/experiences/events that happen to you can be negative and depressing and sometimes feel like such a burden but it is important to keep going, to "search" for the good moments. I also feel like it gives a sense that you should always keep those negative moments in mind when it says "these stones keep my feet on the ground". "search a little harder now" part also gives that sense that things can seem as though they are always at the worse before something great happens, and thats when you have to push through it the most. So it seems pretty straightforward but maybe im missin somethin someone else will pick up on. |
