First: What does P.O.D. being Mexican have anything to do with the points that you are making?
Second: Slipknot most certainly does have songs about being depressed. Everything they write is an expression of an immense amount of pain and sadness that has been turned into anger as a way to cope with what would be otherwise unbearable emotions.
Third: Don't use homosexuality as an insult.
Fourth: Please reexamine punk music. I assume you were referring to the watered down Green Day and Blink-182 pop/punk bullshit that is today's (as in 2002 when you posted this comment) version of punk. Punk comes from the same emotional and intellectual place as Slipknot and their type of music. It's pure fucking anger. Anger at being mistreated and abused and neglected and shit on by the government and by society. |
