just to make some things clear that I think I'm reading into right: 1,2,3, Repeater is a reference to the song by Fugazi and Louie Louie is a garage-rock classic (from the 60s... LSD at its height). daytripper of course is a Beatles reference. oh and windowpane is a type of acid, not really a metaphor, it's small as fuck and clear (like a windowpane). "liturgies soaked" is reminiscent of weird stream of consciousness writing you pen on 'cid. I can't believe I never caught the meaning to the pac-man reference in the title! that's freaking awesome. and damn the LSD verse is wayyyy out there, but I think he's touching on the escapism the dude who mentioned the Pac-man ghosts was talking about. I suppose Aes feels like his time using acid was like a game that he didn't want to stay sucked into. the LSD verse seems to be about him coming to terms with the mindstate that led him to stop eating acid. especially this part: "some don't like sobriety's dirty lenses some do let sleeping dogs lie still, dont look so damn lackluster suck defeat, love some damage, load sample delete" the part before this^^ seems to show how he started to see reality in this negative light (like someone else touched on, the trips get less interesting) and then after his realization he knows that his "lost summers" are in "laminate", and basically that it was something he had to stop from, a Hi-Score, not a lifestyle. word, sick track, hopefully this y'all out in the quest to decipher it. peace |

not entirely sure on the first verse, although i think it is evocative of a personal feeling of uncertainty (in life's meaning). This would be augmented by the fact that some people are vampires (evil figures tend to obscure the greater picture). The second verse is the speaker specifically questioning the meaning in life, and as another commenter said, it seems like he notes that it all makes sense in sleep and dreams. finally though it seems like he found some sort of meaning in human connection, which is shown by his allusion to the anasazi caves, which are definite symbols of some greater force in humanity. perfect song |
