In this song I beleive Frank Ocean represents the character dating the woman in the song. Tyler is her stalker constantly tempting her and his advances are oddly enough working. Frank Ocean and her father in the video are trying to warn her about Tyler's insanity and Tyler himself threatens her mutiple times usually hidden in between his advancements. In the end though none of it matters, because it turns out all of the events were in Tyler's mind and he was just stalking her, at which point she screams loudly.

In my opinion Tyler isn't looking at this like music where he's talking about himself. He sees his music and videos as works of art, he sees himself as more of a director than a musician. I think he's using this just as a break in project so he can show off his skill and end up doing what he really wants to do.

What I love about Maynard, is his lyrics are vauge, but carry so much meaning. With most bands people immediately assume it's a song about drugs, partying, break ups etc. Yet with Maynard's music is delves much deeper into politics, ethics, religion and much more. It's always interesting to read the interpretations people come up with. That's why I beleive Maynard is so mysterious about his music. He hints to meanings and what he was feeling while writing, but I think he likes each individual to find their own meanings hidden between his words.

Five Finger Death Punch – Stranger Than Fiction Lyrics

I think most of the people talking about relationships and evil in spouses are reading to into it. He's simply saying that birth and death are journies you must undertake alone, but life is for you to make of it what you will. After this he's talking about a person obviously so caught up in themselves that they are driving everyone around them away. This can refer to anyone, a girlfriend, friend, family member, hell even an addict. It all depends on who is listening to the song.

My impression of this song is a man at a funeral of someone he knew, probably from his childhood and while there he starts thinking over his life and realising just how empty and pointless it's been not just for himself, but for the people around him. In the end he goes on to tell everyone listening to break the mindless routine of daily life and do more with life.

I beleive that this song is not just talking about bad decisions, but the people who influence us to make those bad decisions. That person who gave you your first smoke, that boyfriend who convinced you to give up your virginity or just about anyone who introduced you into some kind of self destructive habit or hurtful decision.
