| Mumford & Sons – Roll Away Your Stone Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
This song is about finding Jesus Christ and about turning away from satan. Roll away your stone (God reveal yourself to me) and I'll roll away mine (then I will give myself to you). One of the key lines in this great song is: It's not the long walk that will change this heart But the welcome I receive with the restart This clearly is about receiving salvation and then being forgiven of all sins. He has been in the darkness of sin and is now turning his life over to God. Then after the awesome foot stomping comes something like a hallelujah chorus where he gives all of his sins to God and claims his newly impassioned soul that will not allow satan to take control of his life again. This is represented by these lyrics: Stars hide your fires, These here are my desires And I will give them up to you this time around And so, I’ll be found with my stake stuck in this ground Marking the territory of this newly impassioned soul Now I believe he turns to the devil himself and tells satan: But you, you’ve gone too far this time You have neither reason nor rhyme With which to take this soul that is so rightfully mine So he was a lost soul who was an unforgiven sinner and was seeing nothing but darkness. Then he asked God into his life and he reclaimed his lost soul through Jesus Christ. And finally he told satan his soul no longer belonged to the devil. |

| Mumford & Sons – I Will Wait Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Too many religious references in my opinion for it not to be religious...."Kneel down" and "You forgave" and "raise my hands" and "bow my head" are all religious terms. | |

| You is Jesus Christ. He is telling God he will wait for the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. | |

| This song is about the second coming of Jesus Christ. The term "coming home" is used when the person in the song receives salvation. "You forgave" is referring to the Lord forgiving him of his sins. "Kneel down" and "raise my hands" and "bow my head" are all praises to the Lord you will see during a revival. He is telling the Lord he is saved and he will wait for the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. This is a super song!!! | |

Love Mumford and Sons!! To me a girl has let a guy down. The singer could be the guy who is receiving this advise from his former girl. In the first line she is giving him advise, "Serve God, love me, and mend." The girl hurt him badly, but wants his forgiveness and wants his heart to heal. She tells him even though I hurt you, we will always be friends. She tells him her heart was not pure and she was never 100% committed to the relationship (one foot in sea and one on shore). Then she tells her she is sorry and tells him to Sigh No More because real love is great. She goes on to explain that man can and should be happy and tells him not to be afraid to fall in love again. And she explains what true love can mean to him when he finds it. She deeply wants him to find love as she feels guilty because he deserves to find true love. |
