| Also on a side note, they sing a song called "Wretched Man" witch is a complete Parellel of the Apostle Pauls writting in Romans 7:15-25. So I am confident with all the other biblical referances in there lyrics thatthey are Christians. But once again, I am one man,and I read the Bible. | |

Anything any of us says is purely our own speculation, but there are Very christian influenced lyrics in most every song that I have heard by mumford and sons and that is why I LOVE these guys and there music. The refferance to being on his knees and out of luck... The reference to You, must know life to see decay But I won't rot, I won't rot Not this mind and not this heart,I won't rot. Sounds like the belif in resurection. And I took you by the hand And we stood tall, And remembered our own land, What we lived for. This sounds a lot like the pre existance, And the "We" kinship prior to this life existing with God. The taking of the hand to remember, this existance, The accepting the thing you can not see, but that helps you see that wich is there....And there will come a time, you'll see, with no more tears. And love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fear, well this is allmost a direct quote from the bible.And the direct referance "I won't die alone and be left there. Well I guess I'll just go home,Oh God knows where." That after death there will be a place a "home" that God knows "where." but now we find him back in his "now' life the one at hand holding on to what he knew, but with the confussion of this world and the strife that is in it.....All he can do is hold on till he "returns" "And now I cling to what I knew I saw exactly what was true But oh no more.That's why I hold,That's why I hold with all I have. That's why I hold." But hey I didnt write the song and I read the bible, and I am me just one man who can relate in oh too closely of a way to this song, and its lyrics. Among allmost every one of these songs and the lyrics on this album. |
