| I agree, but I think it could also be that he is warning her about the other men who want her (possibly the "superheros", which I think is meant in a sarcastic way, that he wants to save her from, mainly because he loves her and wants her for himself) and how they want her for the wrong reasons. I think "swallow all the halos out of you" is referring to stealing her innocence, or virginity, which is all the other men want to do. | |

| I like your interpretation. But I always thought the last part, "with a match thats mean and some gasoline," was about the narrorator setting the person he/she went home with on fire. Since the narrorator says "I'll sleep out in the gutter, you can sleep here on the floor," and then meantions locking the door, I imagined it as the speaker locking the person inside and burning the house down. But I might be taking it too literally. Anyways, I enjoied your comment. :) | |

The lyric, "When we break, we'll wait for our miracle. God is a place you will wait for the rest of your life," always struck a chord with me. To me, it means that when something bad happens to us, knocks us down, we can't just sit around waiting for our "miracle". We can't wait for God or destiny or fate or whatever fix it for us. You have to pick yourself up and fix it on your own. Or else God will turn into "a place you wait for the rest of your life." That's just so beautiful to me. Jesus, i love this band! |
