| Im not a fan of the new sound. Although minutes to midnight was pretty good, thousand suns was absolutely AWFUL! I was watching them on TV one night and I literally could not watch it it was so bad. It is definitely about religion, or a criticism of religion. "We all create this imagery." "We all increase this lunacy." these two lines seem to talk about how ridiculous these religions are. Also WE all create this imagery seems to hint at humans creating religions. "The first date of existence seems to be changing" could be about how it has been proven that the world as we know it is much older than what is said in the bible. "Focus- Time stands still" think about religion and maybe you'll realize how ridiculous it is. "We are just mortal souls left to die" we die and that's it. no afterlife is basically what I'm getting from this line "Ego, controlled killing" death in the bible by the hands of god maybe? "Obviously a poor creature of existence" this line seems to mean humans are pathetic creatures and are insignificant in the grand scheme of things "This beautiful scenario can't last forever We must go see the conclusion" the thought that there is an afterlife will fade and we need to see the world for what it really is "Nature creates this mechanical lust Nature form this fore fed trust" this one is kinda weird, but it kinda sounds like the theory of evolution. I'm sure I'm wrong on this one but I wanted to throw that out there. "We will soon live in peace We will soon die in peace" we will soon be without religion and we wont have to worry about deities anymore. -All Bodies -Contortion Its either Brainwashing, a depiction of dead bodies, or both. it could mean brainwashing=dead bodies, aka. the crusades. the entire song seems to be brutal criticism of religion (Christianity in particular). this is just what i saw in it though. I will add that this is probably one of btbam's strongest songs lyrically. usually btbam's lyrics kinda fall short of other bands like Opeth, but this one is really good. that's all i have to say.
