I think that the line "I am the man in the mirror/ My reflection I aspire to be" means that you should aspire to be yourself and not to pretend that you are someone that your not

and the line "So let us restore each other,not with haste, but gently,for an empty cup cannot fill another"
means that we shouldn't try to alter someone else beliefs to something better with haste but instead that they should do it gently so as not to cause harm to the person and the empty cup part sounds like it means like if your not living out what you believe in then you will never be able to help out someone else
