This song could also be interpreted as someone losing someone they love. "Sometimes it seems too quiet into paralyzing silence, Like the moon is dark, meant to make me strong," shes all alone but she knows the experience is meant to make her strong "Familiar breath of my old lies Change the colour in my eyes" perhaps she has lied about being okay or maybe she lied during the relationship and it has effected everything she sees or does the chorus is self explainatory, she felt whole when she was with him but he flew right through her...maybe even perhaps died "And we kiss each other one more time And sing this lie thats half-way mine The sword is slicing through the question so I won't be fooled By his angel light" I think this part is about the relationship being forbade because the man is manipulative but she gives into weakness one more time by kissing him and singing the lie thats half way hers "Left alone with only reflections of the memory To face the ugly girl, that's smothering me Sitting closer than my pain He knew each tear before it came Soon he will perferate the fabric of the peaceful by and by" shes left alone with memories of the relationship and she has to face who she has become and what she has done. But god is sitting closer than her pain and he knew each tear before it came and she is basically saying she may have lost her love but god knew that would happen and she is still right where she is supposed to be even though its unpleasant. Anyways this is one of the ways i interpret it, I'm not saying this was the way intended by lacey mosley. I probably just think of it this way because it fits my own experiences exactly, which is what music is all about anyway. |
