Though I think Esp may have hit the nail on the head, this song has a different meaning to me. There is a very high prevalence of a mental illness called Borderline Personality Disorder which falls under the cluster B types in the DSM. This mental illness affects women more so than men. These women are generally very beautiful but have a dark past and find victims to latch onto and basically worship them. Men in these situations feel like they have found their soulmate and often marry these women within a few months of meeting them. However, these women are severely mentally ill and generally turn on you once married, often abandoning long term relationships or marriages, even if children are involved. They have the mental intelligence of a 4 year old. Just search "BPD" and read about it. Scary stuff. "In denial of the thought that our feelings dissolve." Borderline women quickly lose interest once they have you hooked "Your words were always chosen wisely, disguising all intent" they are chameleons and pathological liars. "Then the promise of never was as embracing as the act of strangulation. The idea of forever became the grandest humiliation." - They usually humiliate their victims because they cheat often and act very childish. "Yet still I come, like a moth to a flame in assurance of pain. Still you come; a breathing death wish, with daggers drawn." - Men in these situations are so confused about what happened to the person they married and try so desperately to "fix" things between them and usually to no avail. The women with BPD lack empathy and do not care about your feelings. "Amidst our screaming, I know I heard you say. Let's make a deal, A diamond for disease" - BPD women start arguments CONSTANTLY over trivial things and they NEVER apologize. They do something called raging in which they yell and become physically violent. Screaming seems to be independent of a physical illness in my opinion and points more toward a mental one. "All vows forgotten and the burden placed on me to aid you from the marriage bed." - Vows forgotten would mean through sickness and health, if he was aiding her, he is upholding the vows. However, mentally ill women cheat so much that vows literally mean nothing to them. "Yet I never knew how loosely you used the word friend. In time I learned. This I cannot forgive, but only you know the truth. Your secrets, they follow, and shadows always show the path to the fallen, the liars wielding daggers. Take your skin away, wield the liar�s dagger." - These women pretend to be your soulmate when in reality, they are using you like an object. These women lie all the time about past relationships through something called a "smear campaign" and always talk badly about those they have discared. Hence, "always show the path to the fallen" and the use of "secrets" meaning MULTIPLE lies not just one about physical illness. This to me still points toward a mental illness. Just my 2 cents. |
