White Lies – Bigger Than Us Lyrics 14 years ago
You took the tunnel route home, you've never taken that way with me before.
Did you feel the need for change?
---Driving a different way home

I just gotta get home.
Headlights on the hillside, don't take me this way,
---car headlights, again suggesting a crash

This is bigger than us
---The car is physically bigger than them. although this lyric is more likely refering to the situation and death itself.

You went where the horses cry, you've never taken that way with me before.
Did you feel the need for change?
---Driving a different way home, as in the 1st part.

Guilt smeared across your lips, I was tired and cold from the window
You're tired, nothing's changed.
---Guilty of causing the crash. His face is rested on the car window. She's tired which is likely to be why she crashed.

White Lies – Peace & Quiet Lyrics 15 years ago
Is the 1st line correct? When I 1st heard it I thought the lyrics were 'After the red hands'. This would make more sense, although all the lyric websites seem to use ants as the lyric.

I think the song is simply a car accident- One which is caused by his partner. I don't think his partner cheating on him has anything to do with the song. The feeling of guilt is of her causing the accident...
