Agreed. 'Live up' makes absolutely no sense in the context of the song, and it doesn't flow. I cover this song occasionally and "If I" comes out much more naturally. Alternative interpretations: - I initially thought the words went "got a bun in the oven but she never got laid" and were a reference to the virgin Mary. - I feel this song could also be referring to burning all the things that remind you of your problems...like a big bonfire. But I'm sort of a pyro. |
