I think this is pretty self exsplanitory, but it's one of the best songs on the new album I think. I think it's about how she's done her suffering, she's had years of struggeling and fighting and being a political figure. She's done her struggle, and now she's happy and she's living a life with her partner and kids that she really really loves. At the begging she's referring to those who have made great change in the world, and is talking about how they had to go through stress, and anger to get where they are. at the end she says 'i'm afraid that great gift, was not meant to be mine' so she's saying that these horrible things happen to people who make change, and now shes happy and maybe not making as much change but that doesn't matter because that's not her place, that's not her duty. she's happy now. That's what I've got from it idk tho |

I don't know if this is right, and I doubt it but I've always thought this song is like an extended metaphor for living with depression or anxiety. As someone who suffers from both, I kinda get it to mean like being allergic to water is like being allergic to the fundamental parts of living, being un able to do really typical things like washing and baiting, being like when you have anxiety and not being able to go out the house, or having depression and not being able to get out of bed. particularly the line This is me, sincerely, Doin' the best that I can'. Honestly, that line is so powerful, because if it's about what I think it is shes saying even though it doesn't look like I'm doing much, and that I'm not trying hard I really really am. Idk, it's just the meaning I get out of it. I might be way off. |

I love this song. its so honist and shows so much truth and honisty. 'nothing is ok unless its scriped in the bible' is my favrout line, its so real. I get sent to church every sunday because of my pairents and this is bacicly what they drown on for a hour a week! i super love this song xx |
