Everyone is dumb here but me. This song isn't about Christianity at all. It's about Elliot Smith and his suicide: -"Whirring back and forth from firework to figure eight" = References Elliott Smith's first and last albums Roman Candle and Figure Eight. -Paranoia = There is nothing more paranoid than refusing to eat anything but ice cream and to think that there are white vans from your record label following you and trying to "get" you. -The chorus shows him in heaven and refers to his "trembling hands" being calmed. -The last verse says he has "caskets for hands". =These refer to his suicide. Beyond that the song is about a singer who makes extremely sad music. This song is a tribute to one of the greatest songwriters of our generation, and it is wasted on you FOOLS. |
