Yay! I've been dinging though these comments for someone mentioning the Bridge.
You've defiantly caught the meaning. I'm more interested in the fact she brakes the 4th wall by acknowledging that the piece is written for said effect. |

She isn't speaking to any specific boy, the bridge is breaking the forth wall and challenging the listener to brake her from her fantasy and show her real love. The type of loneliness she is singing about creates a great desire to find that perfect person but kills the ability to maintain a real relationship. |

Amazing, that is exactly what I see. Especially watching the music video you can see the pain and anger under the restrained impulses.
This song is quite literally amazing, and the presentation is beautifully done. |

Unfortunately your getting the vocal punctuation all wrong. there is a clear punctuation between real and experienced.
"He may not be real, experienced with girls"
its admitting that he isn't real but then dodging it by changing the meaning with a tack on. |

Not at all, she dosen't make any references to actually putting money in the slot. And she sings a lot more about a "love robot" The song has more about her wanting something that looks good but dosen't need to be real. |

I think the "coin-operated" idea has more in line with a coin operated horse. they are simple, in comparison to a real horse, you can't get hurt. She's making an allusion to how much pain a real relationship can be and how something fake can't. |

That's a really large leap in logic. "with their colors all the same" Has more to do with the variety of expression all with the same underlying pattern.
As other people say, it's more about the ignorant youth than anything else. |

God dosen't have a halo, as far as I know at least.
Honestly, I don't think it fits poetically. There isn't any sense of a journey, just a moment. |

the phrase "saving grace" isn't an exclusive reference to God.
In this song, Saving Grace means that this guy is the only thing that makes her a good person anymore. |

The basic meaning of the song is very clear, no need for explanation. Though I think its prudent to point out how contravention this song is going to be. She's clearly making the statement that being gay is not a sin... "'Cause God makes no mistakes"
There's is a connection to her song Alejandro in the first two lines. The music video had a strong statement of how God allegedly dosen't love homosexuals- and now this song is singing the truth that being homosexual is in no way a sin. |
