i think its about when she came to terms with her being a lesbian or when she first realised she was gay or maybe even her first gay relationship which. One of the three must have happened when she was 19 obviously "I felt you in my legs before i ever met you" her sexual desires were aimed toawrd women even before she met her lover "I feel you in my heart and i dont even know you" all she knew is that she was gay. definitely about his former bandmates from chiodos. The title and opening lyrics make that seem pretty clear "Some friends, you left me hanging In a room with a noose and a chair You told me to stay put And reminded me why I was there" could have to do with how they kicked him out pretty shortly after his suicide attempt and how they didnt help him cope with it. "Close-minded with no direction A chance to prove who you were My friends, you forgot to think Of all of the things that you're not" this might be how he didnt agree with the creative direction of the band and how they kicked him out to prove they could make it with out him and how they focus on craig's flaws instead of their own that was just my initial take on the meaning |

My take on it was that it's about a summer from her youth that stands out in her memory where the 5 people she held in her heart were the people she saw everyday. She partook in spontaneous acts such as spin the bottle, drinking maybe, and losing her virginity. I think she remembers this summer as the one where she grew up the most and looking back makes her realize how short life is. The White Houses, I'm sure has multiple meanings. To me it's about life in suburbia, where her summer took place. The houses are usually simplistic, large, and white or at least neutral, soft colors. White houses look nice on the outside but you never know whats happening behind closed doors and thats where she holds her secrets ie. crazy events from summertime, losing her virginity or what have you. |
