It's about letting down someone you love, but also trying to make the person that you hurt realise that there is flaws in everyone and well... nobody's perfect. I feel like this song is like a plea and desperate measure to keep what you have close. This song is so powerful, raw and everyone can relate to it. I know I can.
I am nervous I really can't shut the fuck and will tell anyone that will listen to me about my fear disregarding anything that can happen by blabbing. I did that with a situation when I was seeing a guy. Karma came back around for me, and it it ended up horrible. I did learn from the whole thing is that I was gonna have to change my ways if I ever wanted to keep anyone around after that. This song really did hit home after it everything happened. I've been obsessed with it since. |

I think from the view of Jessie J it was written maybe under the pressure of making it big and trying not to lose herself in the process of it. If you put yourself in the shoes of someone on famous or to become famous the song makes complete sense.
However, famous or not this song is super powerful. The message is so powerful which is hard to find these days. It is one of my favourite Jessie J songs, because the message is just so beautiful. |

This song changed my life. It made me come to terms with drinking and waking up the next morning and not knowing what happened the night before from drinking. All of my dark moments was from the excessive drinking. It's a problem that I play off as nothing. The whole routine is a dark place. I dragged my dark moments with me all the time and still do time to time. I don't want to live like that anymore. So I decided to stop drinking and tell a few people about my problems. It was the best feeling in the world. I'm getting my life back together. I'm "shaking it out" and couldn't be happier.
In the musical aspect, I think this song is beautiful. It's flawless and you can feel the emotion in it. She never has let me down with anything she ever wrote.

Oh I'm sorry for having an opinion other than "GAGA IS MOTHER MONSTER AND SHE COULD DO NO WRONG!" I never once said anything against Gaga and I do love what she does. It's amazing she does whatever the fuck she wants. Power to her. I do love the message in Born This Way, don't get me wrong it is just I don't like the sound of it all. I love the lyrics, but music aspect of it I'm not a fan of it all. Also, I wouldn't have sex to this album at all.
PS: Picking on my English doesn't make you look any better or cooler. I know I suck at English. I don't think English speakers understand how hard English grammar is when you don't always speak/write English. |

As a German speaker, I hate this song. We don't have French accents when we speak German. Also, when ever Gaga speaks another language in her songs she always messes up the words somehow. I know she is American, but that doesn't mean it's cute or anything that she speaks another language in her songs. I speak two languages it doesn't makes me cool~
I really do love Gaga don't get me wrong, but I feel this whole album is horrible and she is trying too hard to be different and it shows in how much the quality of the songs. It was painful for me to get through this whole album. I'm so very disappointed in this album. :( |

I actually think there is a deeper meaning that the lyrics let off. I think it is how everyone expects you because you are girl to be get hurt by things someone guy can do when it comes to things and Jessie is saying like I can do things and not get hurt (like heartbroken or something). I'm can be just as tough as you are. It kind of reminds me of sorta like a "girl power" song in the case of I can do things just like a guy and not be a girl about things. |

In my opinion, I don't really care if it is a knockoff of "Express Yourself' by Madonna. The song has a good meaning it.
As for the meaning, I think if you go from Gaga's perspective it is about her saying "Fuck you I'm gonna do what I want." Then for a meaning to everyone it just accept people who for they are no matter who they are. |
