Yeah, I me too...I love the video for this song and the whole message that it sends both lyrically and visually--that, in general, to the world we are "trash". Determined to do things ad nauseum even when it makes us look like fools, maybe especially when it makes us look like fools. And that, in the end, that's really all we are. Collections of things other people view as trash. Our stuff, our memories don't matter to anyone but us and it's ignorant and arrogant to think anything else, to think that our way is "best" that "everyone wants to be like me" so to speak... Because..."I'm just American Trash." |
