| Maybe that's how Patrick was made to feel? It sounds like the song is more about him trying to just understand and maybe rationalize a complicated situation with a girl who is stringing him along, rather than expressing his opinion on feminist values. It's not a textbook trying to perpetuate some fact, but a song trying to express feeling and emotion.I'm not trying to devalue what your saying (although that seems to be what I'm doing) because your right on a few different levels, but I think it's useful to separate artistic expression from political ideology for the sake of enjoyment. | |

I feel like he's talking about a girl he used to be in love with, and even though she took advantage of him all the time, "Sometimes when we play games she cheats and I let it go" he still considered himself immeasurably fortunate. |
