Beautiful song, although I've interpreted this a little differently. Kind of from a Christian stand point, which I believe it can be taken like this. This is not to offend God forbid, just my own feelings. But, I took this song in this way.. That, no matter how many times I am knocked down by others, or have fallen away myself, you are not supposed to hurt others even if they hurt you, or "cut you down" a size, instead you turn the anger to sorrow, and pray for that person (which can be very difficult). Even through my own struggle, and being in dark moments of life, if you still believe in me, I will believe, and rise and rise with your strength, and seek your forgiveness, because I am not perfect, and You are well aware of this. My personal take on this song. :) |

| The song can be taken in many different ways. For me, because this is the way the lyrics have related to me. Is that this specific person treated her badly, and it was making it easy to walk away, but then had moments of being unbelievably reliable in which she clung to, therefore made it difficult to walk away. Maybe those moments of good were so rare, but that was what she looked forward to, even if for the most part things were horrible. That's just my take on it. Could be friendship/ or significant other. | |

| Also, the reason why I got this, was because a lot of women have trouble leaving an abusive relationship because they still love the person, so that's why I think she says run fast for your mother run fast for your father...etc. because if she won't leave for just herself, she will for the people who love and care about her. | |

| I believe this song is about being walked on, possibly yes in a relationship, being treated badly. And finally she comes to her senses and knows what she must do, which is to leave. Maybe she's struggling to do so, but she's doing it for her loved ones also, and she's leaving her feelings for that person who treated her badly behind because it's for the best. That's what I got out of the song. | |
