The more I think about, the more I realize this is probably about OCD.

Every single compulsion and thought of the theories of his destruction. Everytime he has one, no matter if he gives in or not, it still leaves him that much weaker.
"All sincere emotion received skeptically
with no preparation for life eternal. "
He doesn't see the good of people, and he wants a short life. I feel the same.
"Every tear that's fallen brings one thousand floods. "
Even the little compulsion can destroy you.
"Paper cuts are leaving blood behind. "
You never truly get over OCD, there's always traces remaining.
"All the silent laughter ringing piercingly."
He thinks people are making fun of him behind his back, although he can't prove it, he still hates
everything for he knows.
"I blink making my eyes mine"
Does things his own way, deals with things differently than the rest. But people still ridicule.
"Words in their worthlessness, they should be waiting down, but do I truly wish their cessation."
He wishes more people understood him and the pain OCD and disorders like it bring, but then he can't think of anyone he'd bring down with him. Words can bring that sort of pain.

Look it's not bashing ALL police officers. That's something modern Pennywise might do. But anyways, a kid from around my town (MA) was at a party. Noone really knew if he was drunk or not. He was sitting in a car, not harming anyone. And so a Police officer shoots, him, killing him. The victims friends try to help the kid, but the police said "Get away or I'll shoot you too!" Anyways, the boy was dead. But really is the worst part is that the police officer won OFFICER OF THE YEAR!! FOR THOSE ACTIONS!!!! So close to my town. I used to think MA was peaceful but I guess not. No one is really safe. |

I'm about to compare it to Double Standard
This comes early in the album, which gives it a clear advantage.
Double Standard has a 90's grunge beginning, which gives it a few points.
In Friendly Advice, the chorus is very catchy
In Double Standard, it's hard to tell the chorus apart.
Double Standard is a bit faster, and a bit more hardcore
Double Standard is a bit darker
Friendly Advice has better lyrics
Friendly Advice is a bit more... solid. |
